BeOnMe is an Italian vegan and certified organic skincare brand. It was founded by nature lovers and all the products are produced exclusively in Italy. BeOnMe works only with natural and environmentally sustainable ingredients, and recyclable packagings. The company also strongly believes in social and ecological ethics. So for all that I give them a huge A+.
I’ve never tried anything by that brand before, so I was pretty excited about testing some of the products (that I bought myself). I used their Purifying Face Tonic and Body Cream, and overall I’m pretty happy with the quality. The products are not extraordinary, but they do what they promise. Plus, they’re both vegan, nickel tested and ECOCERT certified.
The tonic works very well on oily and combination skin, but I wouldn’t recommend it for dry and sensitive skin types. It contains pretty strong ingredients like witch hazel, benzyl alcohol, limonene, citric acid and lemon. These have great antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and cleansing properties, which are really good for people with acne-prone skin for instance, but can also cause slight irritation if you have really sensitive skin or rosacea.
Personally, I have a pretty difficult and annoying skin type. I have combination skin with an oily T-zone and large blackheads on my nose, but also a mild type of rosacea. For me, this tonic works quite well; my skin feels cleansed and refreshed, especially on my T-zone. I was a little worried at first that it would cause a rosacea flare-up, but my skin reacted well to the product. But as already mentioned, I have a very mild type of rosacea that only flares up with strong triggers, and this tonic is generally not so aggressive. Still, keep in mind that it may cause irritation for certain skin types.
The body cream is very nice, highly moisturising and great for dry skin. It absorbs fast and is not heavy or greasy; and I love how it keeps my skin hydrated for hours. It contains soothing, nourishing and antioxidant active ingredients that are rich in vitamins; for example chamomile, almond oil, olive oil and sunflower seed oil. So it’s also perfectly suitable for sensitive skin.
This cream has a particular and interesting scent that I wouldn’t exactly describe as pleasant, but that’s rather personal, because my sister does think it smells pretty nice, a bit like vanilla with hints of almond. In fact, the cream has a lovely yellow shade, kind of like vanilla. Overall, it’s definitely worth trying out.
