Fluid Retention & Swollen Feet

Rating:

  • Flow Cosmetics Peppermint Foot Butter – 8/10
  • Domus Olea Toscana Drain-Lift Legs Cream – 6/10

Hey you! πŸ’‹

I haven’t explicitly mentioned it yet, but I have a physical disability and I sit in a wheelchair all day. One of the most annoying things about it is that by the end of the day I often have swollen legs and feet, because they retain fluid. Sometimes my feet can also feel very hot.

Besides a sedentary lifestyle, there are some other things that can cause fluid retention, such as flying, eating too much sodium, menstrual cycle or pregnancy. If you have that problem too, there are a number of products you can use. These won’t really fix the problem, of course, but they can help. Here are the products that I tried.

Touch of Organic Beauty

The Peppermint Foot Butter by Flow Cosmetics is, so far, my favourite product against swollen, hot and heavy feet. This vegan, cruelty-free and certified organic foot butter is very refreshing and moisturising. It contains peppermint and cypress, which help to reduce swelling and heat, and improve blood circulation.

If you have really dry hands, you can also use this product, it’s highly moisturising. It does have a pretty strong peppermint smell, so if you’re not into that, you might not like this foot butter. Overall, I absolutely recommend it. You can get it for €20.50 on Natural You Box (shipping to the Benelux).

The second product I tried is the Drain-Lift Legs Cream by Domus Olea Toscana. It helps with swollen and heavy legs, makes your skin more elastic and it’s an antioxidant. This cream also improves blood circulation. It contains menthol that has very refreshing properties, while coffee, lemon and grape leaf extract promote fluid drainage.

The cream has a very light consistency, almost runny, and quite a strong minty scent. So, again, if you don’t like strong smells, you might dislike this product. Personally, I’m not crazy about this one, because I woke up a couple of times with a burning sensation on my feet. It only happened a few times, so I don’t really know what it was, but it did bother me. So, to be honest, I don’t know if I would really recommend it. It’s also pricier than the foot butter. I got mine for €28.99 on Ecco Verde (worldwide shipping).

My sister and I are running Natural You Box, so I might sound biased here, but I honestly prefer the foot butter. The quality of the product is better, it’s softer and more moisturising. My legs and feet feel better when I use that cream.

I hope you liked this post and thanks for reading! πŸ₯‚
