I come from an eastern culture and for many girls that means dealing with thick, black and stubborn excess hair everywhere. For me personally, it’s been quite a struggle. I have tried dozens of hair removal techniques, some of which damaged and irritated my skin. So, I have been looking for an effective but natural way to help me with my problem.
One of the best natural solutions I have tried so far is sugar waxing or sugaring. It’s a very old technique, that is becoming more and more popular today. It’s simple, safe and you can use it on all parts of your body. This wax is so basic, you can easily make it at home. All you need is sugar, lemon juice and some water.
I love discovering new natural cosmetics brands and trying out different products, so I decided to buy the sugaring paste instead of making it myself. My sister and I both tried it on different parts of our bodies and we found that it works better with thicker hair. She used it on her face and the result wasn’t spectacular. It is the kind of product you have to play with a few times before getting it right, so I think I’ll still try applying it on my face.
This paste is very thick and hard, so you have to really liquefy it before use. It’s best to put it in really hot, boiling water. Be very careful not to burn yourself though. When you get the right consistency, apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of hair growth using a spatula. The wax comes with strips. Take one and cover the area where you put the product, gently massage and quickly pull the strip in the opposite direction. To get better results use baby powder before waxing. Make sure you apply some kind of soothing lotion afterwards, so your skin doesn’t get irritated.
I really like this sugaring paste. It’s simple, all-natural, VeganOK certified and cruelty-free, which is basically all you can ask for from a beauty product. I absolutely recommend it, especially if you have thick, pesky hair you want to get rid off.
Thanks for reading and happy Halloween! 🎃
